Reporting to the Senior Director, Internal Communications, the Internal Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing communication strategies that foster employee engagement, enhance organizational culture, and ensure effective information flow within the company. This role will work closely with various departments to create, manage, and deliver internal communications that align with the company's goals and values.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy that aligns with the company's objectives and enhances employee engagement.

  • Identify and leverage appropriate communication channels to effectively reach all employees.

Content Creation:

  • Create, edit, and distribute internal communications, including newsletters, emails and other digital content, with particular emphasis on relaunching the company’s intranet.

  • Develop compelling content that informs, engages, and motivates employees, ensuring consistency in messaging and branding.

Employee Engagement:

  • Plan and execute initiatives to improve global employee engagement, including events, campaigns, and recognition programs.

  • Conduct surveys and gather feedback to assess the effectiveness of internal communication efforts and identify areas for improvement.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with HR, the business units and other functions (e.g., R&D) to ensure consistent messaging and alignment with company goals.

  • Act as a liaison between management and employees to facilitate open and effective communication.

Measurement and Analysis:

  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of internal communication strategies and tools.

  • Provide regular reports and recommendations to senior management on communication metrics and employee feedback.

Crisis Communication:

  • Develop and manage internal communication plans for crisis situations, ensuring timely and accurate dissemination of information.

Change Management:

  • Support organizational change initiatives by developing communication plans that explain the change process and its benefits.

  • Assist in managing the communication aspects of mergers, acquisitions, restructurings, and other significant changes.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in internal communications or a similar role.

  • Exceptional writing, editing and proofreading skills.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Proficiency in MS Office and communication tools such as intranet platforms, email marketing software and content management systems.

Preferred:

  • Experience in a corporate environment, particularly within a large or complex organization.

  • Knowledge of employee engagement and change management principles.

  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms, including social media and video production.
